What is Snoop?

Snoop is a fast-growing UK financial technology company. Launched in 2020 Snoop has a goal of making everyone better off by helping them ‘live, spend and save’ smarter.

What does Snoop do?

Snoop offers a free mobile app designed to help you save money. When you connect your current or savings accounts and any credit cards to Snoop via Open Banking, the app will:

  • Show you all your bank accounts in one place – giving you better visibility of your day to day finances.
  • Track your money – Snoop helps to categorise your spend, so you can see how much you’re spending and who with. It also sends you balance alerts and spend summaries so you’re always on top of your finances.
  • Keep an eye on your regular payments – Snoop helps you keep track of your upcoming bills and lets you know if you might be paying more than you should. It can even help you switch suppliers to save money.
  • Help you save where you spend – Snoop will share discounts and money-saving vouchers at the places you already spend.

How do I access Snoop?

You can find out more about Snoop and get the link to download the Snoop app.

When you click to download the app, Snoop will use this link (provided by technology company AppsFlyer ) to understand that you have accessed this from the Lowell.co.uk website. Only information on your device type is collected to ensure you automatically get to the right app store (Google Play / Apple App Store) to download the app. No personally identifiable information is collected through this link.

How do I connect my bank accounts to Snoop?

Your accounts are connected to Snoop via Open Banking, a secure technology that lets you use your banking data to your advantage. Through Open Banking, you can choose to share your banking data with other providers so they can show you your money in more helpful ways.

None of this happens without your say-so and you choose which services to use and who gets access to your info. Apps and websites like Snoop that use Open Banking all need to be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and there are struct rules about how these providers can operate, especially in relation to how your data is looked after.

Why are Lowell and Snoop working together?

At Lowell, we’re always looking for ways to help our customers better understand and take control of their finances, and we believe the Snoop app could provide our customers with a useful tool to help them do this.

If I connect to Snoop, does this mean Lowell will be able to see how I’m spending my money?

Absolutely not. If you decide to download and connect to the Snoop app, this is entirely independent of Lowell. We won’t have access to any of your transactional data or any visibility of how you spend your money. Anything you share with Snoop stays with Snoop.
