Myth: Lowell is a scam artist

Some customers who are contacted by Lowell for the first time may be mistakenly concerned that Lowell is a scam or that they're at risk of financial fraud. Well, we're here to set the record straight.

Myth: is Lowell a scam artist or trickster? Answer: Absolutely not. Lowell is a legitimate company, that’s authorised  by the Financial Conduct Authority.

If we’re getting in touch it’s because we’ve legally purchased your debt, and we’re reaching out to introduce ourselves and find the best way to help you become debt free. 

Is Lowell a scam?

Lowell Financial Ltd is a legitimate debt collection company, and not a scam. We’re authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and we adhere to strict regulations put in place by public bodies like the Information Commissioner’s Office. At Lowell, our priority is to help our customers become debt free. We take our responsibility to our customers seriously, and we’re always here to help. We believe in building trust with our customers, and we know that we earn that trust by being open and honest and by protecting your information and privacy.

How do Lowell stop scams?

We take fraud prevention very seriously, and we do everything we can to protect our customers. If you receive a call or a letter that says it’s from Lowell but you have any doubts or concerns, let us know on 0333 556 5550. You can also report any scam to the Financial Conduct Authority by contacting them on their Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768 or using their reporting form. Have Lowell been recognised for their work?

Is Lowell Portfolio a scam?

We sometimes find that our customers want to know about Lowell Portfolio, which is different to Lowell Financial. It might be helpful to know how our group is structured, and how the different companies will work with you.

Lowell is a group which includes several different companies, including Lowell Portfolio I Ltd and Lowell Financial Ltd. Lowell Portfolio I Ltd purchase debt from lots of different companies. Lowell Financial Ltd then manages that debt on behalf of Lowell Portfolio I Ltd. Lowell Financial Ltd then works with customers to help them find the best way to manage their Lowell debt.

Lowell Portfolio I Ltd and Lowell Financial Ltd are companies registered in England and Wales under Company Reg No’s: 4857418 and 4558936 respectively. Both of these companies are fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in respect of consumer credit regulated accounts.

Is there a financial watchdog for Lowell?

Lowell is authorised and regulated by the FCA, which regulates financial services firms and financial markets in the UK. Their overall aim is to make sure that financial systems are sound and stable, and that consumers can easily understand the offerings that are available. You can find Lowell on the Financial Services Register for confirmation of our FCA authorisation.  

Can I see Lowell reviews online?
